Merton Mencap is a local registered charity supporting people with a learning disability and/or autism and their parents and carers in the London Borough of Merton
We affiliate to the national charity, Royal Mencap Society, but we are independent of them.
We are responsible for raising all our own funds.
Our services for children, young people and adults with a learning disability and/or autism support people to be safer, healthier, to live as independently as possible, and take part in community life.
Our services for parents and carers help people to feel better informed, less isolated,
have a voice about local services and a life outside caring.
We work in partnership with local partners including local charities, Merton council, education, health and community groups.
We contributed to all the major forums, boards and committees in Merton to ensure the voice of learning disability and autism is heard.
